Shifting Gears, Adjusting Focus

Shifting Gears, Adjusting Focus

Jan 14, 2025 | Business Announcements, Business Management, Marketing

First of all, can you believe it’s 2025 already? I’m somehow still mentally stuck in the 2010’s. I guess it’s just a sign of getting old!

But that’s not what this blog post is about. (We’ll chat about getting old another time.)

It’s about some changes that you may have seen happening on our digital outlets. We suddenly started talking a lot more about non-profits, and I want to elaborate on what is happening and some major changes for me personally.

The Idea

For quite some time now, I have been feeling like we should move in a different direction than what we have been doing so far. Have you ever had repeating thoughts that just won’t leave you alone? I’ve been feeling like my heart has really been drawn to helping non-profits grow their impact.

In the past we have worked across all kinds of industries with a large variety of business types, and some of our favorite work was to help non-profits. We had the pleasure of working with several of them over the years, and we always enjoyed helping these organizations help more people by increasing their efforts with strategic marketing. It has become a really fulfilling experience to see these organizations grow and expand, and we want to do more of that!

The Decision

Over the last 1-2 years, our business has been working on restructuring how we operate. Our team is much smaller now than it used to be, and that is quite okay! Having a smaller team has allowed me to focus more on some freelance work, which I honestly missed dearly while we had a larger team. I have always enjoyed managing my team, but coming from a freelance background, I admittedly missed working with clients directly, getting into the nitty gritty of the creative work, and being able to be a marketer/designer instead of “only” a CEO/Manager.

I have been secretly hoping to get an opportunity to be able to work on that basis again, and downsizing the team has been helpful in the process of going “back to the roots.” Although transitions can be hard and sometimes incredibly painful, I believe that we are where we are supposed to be at this point.

This transition has caused us to shift our focus a little on what services we want to really specialize in, what our product offer looks like, and so on. Recently I discussed my burning desire to spend more time in the non-profit marketing world with my team, and they were all on board immediately. Thus, we decided to specialize our services to target the non-profit world.

Our Goal

Our new goal is to not only deliver digital marketing services to non-profit organizations, but to also provide resources. Too often non-profits are not aware how much they could increase their impact if they got help with their marketing efforts. We want to help them make sure they receive the type of funding they need to hire a marketing professional, as well as utilizing all channels that are available to them to reach their supporters and potential donors.

What About Other Businesses?

So, what if you are not a non-profit and you need marketing help? Well, we will not turn you down! We will continue to serve our clients across different industries that we are working with already, and if you are not our client yet, we would be delighted to have you! This new “niche” we are entering does not exclude other businesses or organizations!

More Changes and a New Position

As we are restructuring, we are making some additional operational changes. Tonia Marie moved into the position of “Marketing Director!” Tonia has been working with us for over three years now, and her vast experience and background of 20+ years in strategic marketing more than qualifies her to move up in the ranks.

On the daily, our clients will hear from her more often, as she is taking over more creative oversight over all projects, strategic management of campaigns, and generally providing services to our clients to make sure that they are getting the best out of their marketing!

I’m extremely excited to have Tonia in that position, working with her is always a pleasure, and she is just knowledgeable in her field!

Going Into the New Year

As I said, it is a year of changes already, and we’re only a few days in. I want to thank everyone who has been part of our journey so far, present and past clients, and all of you who have supported us in other ways. We’re coming up on 13 years of Light Alive Marketing, and we aren’t done yet!

I am incredibly thrilled for what’s to come and grateful for everything that’s happening, and I can’t wait to see what 2025 brings!

Best Regards,

Angel
